Hi, I’m Landra Black.
I am a South Georgia native living in Alabama with my husband and two amazing girls!
My passion for design stems way back to the 90s. I wasn’t your “play barbies or dollhouse” kinda girl. While I loved my barbies, I spent my playtime designing their houses out of various materials I’d find lying around, building elaborate “Barbie cities” in my childhood home’s hallway. In high school, I designed my own birthday invitations. I would doodle floor plans and new bedroom design ideas during class as I was constantly redecorating my bedroom (sorry, mom!). I wasn’t grabbing the latest issue of Cosmo, I was flipping through Domino Mag or my mom’s endless issues of Southern Living! You could find me drawing, sketching, or designing often, and I spent a lot of my time trying to figure out how things work.
I chose to use this passion and pursue a degree in Industrial Design at Auburn University. While pursuing this degree, I was able to study at various design schools throughout Ireland, Scotland and England, as well as Shu-Te University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan! Those experiences provided me with the ability to work and communicate with various individuals in many different situations.
Since graduation in 2008, I have used my design skillset professionally in exhibit design, architectural signage, environmental design and graphic design. I started Linen & Birch Creative in 2012 when planning our wedding to sell invitations and signage. Since then Linen and Birch evolved into Landra Black Creative where I offer a variety of lifestyle + branding design services for various clients. I often pull from my exhibit and signage design toolbox in the research and development phase of current branding and marketing projects. I pull from my years of love for anything with texture and color to add personality to your brand that will leave you with a design that is unique and vibrant.
