12th Annual Beer & Bacon Bash
This past weekend we celebrated our 12th annual beer and bacon party! My husband and I were OBSESSED with football when we first met (we still are, but kids' activities get in the way sometimes ;)). He had the idea to throw a themed party during football season and we've continued it each year! Each year we have new friends and old, bring a bacon inspired dish. We've had SO many creative recipes - bacon brownies, bacon wrapped pickles, lots of pork belly! I think the bacon brownies were my favorite this year! The kids had a blast throwing footballs, corn hole, bounce house and the weather was perfect! Alabama started off rough against Tennessee, but they finished strong and soon our driveway was filled with cigar smoke... (An Alabama/?Tennessee tradition) Auburn wasn't so lucky, and unfortunately didn't win. We had fun, ate lots of food and enjoyed good company! We always make this delicious chili for later on in the evening! I also made bacon wrapped chicken bites & bacon jalapeno crackers!
